MVMA to Offer Pet Health
Tips to Consumers
MVMA is offering its members an
opportunity to promote their practices by co-branding with
the association on a new public relations initiative.
Beginning in January of 2005,
MVMA is going to publish monthly animal health tips for
consumers. We are building an e-mail list of Maryland pet
owners. We’re going to publish these tips on our web site
and broadcast them out to interested consumers. The purpose
is to position MVMA members as the preferred source of
quality veterinary care in Maryland.
We’re asking our members to send
us their customers’ names and e-mail addresses. These
customers will receive these monthly, non-brand-specific
tips with links to additional relevant information on the
web. In exchange for your list, we will co-brand these
messages with your practice name. From the consumer’s
perspective, the e-mail will be coming from your practice
and the MVMA. It’s an opportunity for you to market your
practice while MVMA picks up the costs.
Our first e-mail will cover
caring for aging pets. Our schedule for the next six months
is as follows:
January – Caring for aging pets
February – Pet dental care
March – Heartworm prevention
April – Flea and tic prevention
May – Dog bite prevention
June – Pet allergies
Before we close, we want to make
two things clear about our e-mail list:
-
MVMA does not want to be a
nuisance. Every e-mail we send will carry an opt-out
clause, and any pet owner who doesn’t want to hear from
us will be immediately removed from our list on the
first request.
-
MVMA’s e-mail list will be
confidential. Under no circumstances will e-mail
addresses be sold to or shared with other organizations.
To participate in MVMA’s public
relations initiative, simply send a list of customer names
and e-mail addresses to Brittany Wittelsberger at MVMA
headquarters. You can e-mail them to
mvma@managementalliance.com,
fax them to 410-931-2060 or send them to 8015 Corporate
Drive, Suite A, Baltimore, MD 21236.
