MVMA 2010 Winter Seminar Vacation to Barbados

The five star All-Inclusive Almond Beach Village Resort located on the Caribbean coast of Barbados will be the site of the annual Winter Seminar Vacation. A wonderful place to bring your family and friends just when the winter is coldest at home, Barbados has it all: pristine beaches, great fishing, champion golf courses, horseback riding, nature tours, scuba diving and snorkeling, kayaking and much more. The food is delicious and you can drink the water from the tap. English is the spoken language and Barbados is known for warmest and friendliest natives in all the Caribbean.

The Almond Beach Village Resort is a magnificent resort where you are free to be as active or inactive as you wish. This renowned resort is located on 32 lush acres of Barbados’ Platinum Coast. It offers its guests a quality holiday with adult only sections and family sections designed with everyone’s happiness in mind. The resort has five restaurants, 5 bars, numerous swimming pools, two Jacuzzis, a par-three eight hole golf course, fitness center, tennis courts, a wonderful Kids Club for children of all ages, laundry services, daily afternoon tea and room service. Each air-conditioned guest room has Satellite TV, telephones, room safe, bath/showers, hair dryer and private terraces. Free Internet Service is available in the lobby area.

All-inclusive means that all meals (breakfast, lunch & diner), unlimited drinks, including liquor, beer, tropical coolers, house wines, soft drinks and all resort taxes, gratuities, service charges and non-motorized water sports are included.
Spa services, fishing, motorized water sports, scuba, spa activities, jet skiing, championship golfing, horseback riding, tours, yachting and many other activities are all available at the hotel at an extra charge.

The hotel is minutes away from its sister property the Almond Beach Club (adults only) and about 30 minutes from its other sister property, The Almond Casuarina. Both are serviced by a free shuttle. Participants may spend time at these resorts and eat at the restaurants located at these resorts at no extra charge.

A total of 22 seminar hours will be offered. The first speaker is Dr. William Fortney. He will lecture on Canine and Feline Geriatrics & Pediatrics. Dr Fortney is currently an associate professor in the Department of Diagnostic Medicine, Small Animal Medicine Internist, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. The second lecturer is Lisa Radosta, DVM, DACVB, Veterinary Behaviorist, Florida Veterinary Behavior Service, Royal Palm Beach, FL. She will speak on Clinically Oriented Animal Behavior for the Modern Practice. There will also be a two hour lecture by Larry Schuffman, MSFS, CFP on “What Do We Do Now?”, dealing with how to manage our finances in a time of financial uncertainty.

We expect this seminar vacation to be totally enjoyable and fascinating experience.

The seminar vacation package price includes accommodations, all transfers, service charges, taxes, baggage handling & gratuities, all meals (breakfast, lunch & diner), unlimited drinks, including liquor, beer, tropical coolers, house wines, soft drinks and all resort taxes, gratuities and service charges. It does not include airfare.

Seminar registration fee is $295 for veterinarians and $150 for recent graduates, veterinary technicians and working spouses. This fee is applicable to those registered with the group. Seminar fee for those not registered with the group is $495.
