122nd Annual MVMA
Summer Conference
June 22-25, 2008
Rocky Gap Resort •
Cumberland, Maryland
Benefit Reception
You are Cordially Invited to a
Special Benefit Reception
Greet and meet Dr. Gerhardt Schurig, Dean,
Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine
Veterinary education is one thing we can all agree is of prime
importance to the future of our profession and to our individual
businesses. As has been pointed out many times, there is no shortage
of money available for pets in this country. Unfortunately, much of
it is spent or donated in ways that have minimal impact. Donations
to educate more veterinarians and raise the standard of veterinary
care has a much broader ripple effect, and we need to tell our
clients about this.
At this time we will ask Dean Gerhardt Schurig to make a short
presentation on the topic and his bold plan to address the problem.
Since it is our veterinary college, I want to be sure that we show
our support for what they have done, are doing, and plan to do.”
I am asking each of you to stand with me as examples to our
colleagues of our commitment to this endeavor.
John P. O’Mara, DVM
